All offseason the top two offensive tackles heading into the draft were Ole Miss Laremy Tunsil and Notre Dame's Ronnie Stanley. Now it looks like a third tackle could be taken in the top ten with that being Michgan State LT Jack Conklin who has been moving up the board quickly over the last two weeks.
The buzz around Conklin is high as he is being regarded by some as the 2nd best tackle behind Tunsil and could go high as 7th overall to the Niners. Conklin is a former walk-on, and plays with an edge providing physical punch in his blocking and finishing to the whistle. Conklin is a left tackle but has versatility to play inside or at right tackle if needed. Conklin is a coaches son and has great football IQ and has outstanding work ethic and just loves the game. Conklin is Jason Licht type player and if the Bucs have to go with someone at 9, it could be the big offensive lineman. Conklin wouldn't be the sexy pick but would stabilize the offensive line and would protect your franchise Qb in Jameis Winston.Just watched tape of Jack Conklin dominating DeForest Buckner last season. Impressive. Can easily see him in Top 10 #NFLDraft— Jordan Raanan (@JordanRaanan) April 25, 2016
The buzz around Jack Conklin is real. Don't think he goes to the 49ers, but he's getting top 10 talk from my contacts— Matt Miller (@nfldraftscout) April 22, 2016
