Bucs Gm Jason Licht took the podium today at One Buc to talk NFL Draft with the local media which is only two weeks away. Licht mention some interesting tidbits like what makes a player a bust, wanting good football players, and how the coaches and scouts have been heavily involved throughout the process. One of the more interesting takes from the press conference was how Licht and his staff scout for other teams like they were working for them to try to predict what they will do in the draft. Licht mentions Rob Mccartney and Mike Biehl whom both do a great job of putting a book together on all of the 31 other teams to provide the Bucs with great Intel for rounds 1 through 7.
With the Bucs at 9th overall. this can help the Bucs forecast who will likely be available when they are up to pick or if they decide to trade back for a certain player that they feel will still be there. Bucs Gm Jason Licht likes to prepare for every scenario and with this draft book his staff creates, it makes the draft that much smoother for the Bucs. Hopefully the Bucs draft Intel is solid again in 2016, leading to another great draft class like in 2015. The Bucs will look to get impact players from each round, and with this draft being pretty deep the Bucs should be able to do just that. One thing is for sure, Licht and his staff will have no surprises come draft night, which was never the case under previous regimes.
