Bucs Got a Steal in Butler

The Bucs look to have their roster ready for week 1 which kicks off this Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. The Bucs made some decisions over the weekend as they had to make cuts to get down to 53 where there was no real surprises. Then on Sunday the Bucs formed their practice squad which included 9 players that were let go from the team just the previous day. The team did add one player from an another team with that being former Ravens WR Jeremy Butler. Butler, 25 had solid production last season in which he had 31 receptions for 361 yards in only 8 games.

Butler has good size at 6'2 215lbs and excellent hands and has a tendency to make plays when he is in the game. Butler gives the Bucs much needed depth at receiver and someone they can developed as well on the practice squad. Some scouts think Butler can be an eventual starter for the Bucs in due time.
Butler could have returned to the Ravens but decided to come home to Tampa instead who is from Sarasota. Butler had an strong opinion on Jameis Winston and was one of the reasons he chose Tampa via Greg Auman.

So with Butler already being a fan of Jameis and plus being a hard worker and smart according to Baltimore reports, it looks like he is a perfect fit for this team. My thoughts of Butler is that he will be on the main roster once he learns the offense as he has more upside than Russell Shepard and Evan Spencer. Hopefully, Butler can be that next hidden gem that Bucs Gm Jason Licht always tends to find each year.
