Third Down Offense Must Be Better For Week 2

Head coach Dirk Koetter is big on winning third down whether it is on offense or the defensive side of the ball, he expects his team to be good on third down. If your team is good on third down then usually you will win a lot of football games. The Bucs defense was good last week by holding the Falcons offense to 23% conversion rate which is excellent. However, the Bucs offense needs to be much improved this week on third down as they were only 30% last week against the Falcons. Koetter was not please and said it must improve or it will be tough to win every week.
"Our offense was terrible, our number on that is 45% and we were 30% which is not close to our number. We got to do better on third down."
This week against the Cardinals, third down will be critical on both sides of the ball but especially on offense. The Bucs want to keep the Cardinals offense off the field and the Bucs can do that by moving the chains and using the clock but have to score touchdowns as well. So hopefully the Bucs can hit their goal of 45% on third down this week which will definitely put them in position to win this game. So I would expect the offense to be sharper in this area come Sunday and is something to look for while watching the game.
